Q. How long does it take to complete a commercial kitchen exhaust system installation?
A. Depending on a variety of factors around 3 weeks.
Q. Do you lease or offer a payment plan for the equipment?
A. Unfortunately we do not offer finance or lease plans for any commercial cooking exhaust equipment or components at this time.
Q. What is your warranty policy?
A. Our warranty is standard 1 year on parts from our suppliers as well as our in-house 1 year on labor.
Q. Do I need a building permit to install a commercial kitchen exhaust?
A. Yes you do need a building permit and Engineer’s drawings to have such a commercial kitchen exhaust system installed.
Q. Can I get any credit for my old commercial cooking exhaust equipment if I replace it with new?
A. No, we do not offer any credit for old equipment nor do we have any use for it.
Q. When do I need to install a Type 1 NFPA 96 compliant commercial cooking exhaust system?
A. A Type 1 NFPA compliant restaurant exhaust system is required when cooking with grease.
Q. I understand that I need an exhaust system, but why do I need a Make-up Air system?
A. An exhaust system will remove air from the premise and a Make-up Air system will replace that with fresh air, this way maintain a balanced ambient air pressure.
Q. What is the difference between an electrical and a gas fired Make-up Air system?
A. An electrically heated Make-up Air system will be cheaper to install however much more expensive to operate in electricity costs.
Q. Do I need to install a Fire Suppression System? Under what circumstances is it not required?
A. Yes, a Fire Suppression System is required under NFPA and local fire codes in all commercial cooking with grease applications. It is not always required in Type 2 exhausts such as most enclosed pizza ovens, most convection ovens and some steam cooking exhausts.
Q. Is the cost of the restaurant kitchen exhaust system related to the square footage of the premises?
A. No it is not. The cost of the commercial cooking exhaust installation is related to the size of the exhaust hood, the building’s height and specifics, equipment brand and other variables.
Q. What is your return policy?
Unfortunately equipment that is already installed cannot be returned. Elements such as the exhaust hood, the 16 Gauge welded ductwork and the make-up air ductwork are fully customized for that particular project.
Q. At what stage in the renovation process is the exhaust typically installed?
A. All restaurant ventilation components are installed at the beginning of the project as it becomes impossible to do so after the walls and ceilings are in place.
Q. What is the average lifespan of a restaurant exhaust fan?
A. Roughly 15 years with proper maintenance.
Q. How often should I have the commercial cooking exhaust fan and make-up air fan serviced?
A. At least once a year. The fans bearings should be greased and belts replaced.
Q. Does your company offer kitchen exhaust system cleaning services?
A. No we do not offer cleaning services.
Q. How often should I have my restaurant exhaust system cleaned?
A. Depending on the volume and type of cooking. At least once a year.
Q. Who should service my exhaust and make-up air fans?
A. Your equipment should be serviced by mechanical contractors specialized in this type of work.
